PRR 9329, GS-4M, #1 of 2, 1960 |
Description: |
Yard Power. Here is the first of two successive original photos that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 2 August 1960. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9329 and #9330. Both are GS-4M switchers built by General Electric in June of 1948, rated at 380 horsepower each, and retired in February of 1966 after just 18 years of revenue service. Here, the crew is "flat switching" cars midway between the Jones Street Crossing (to the right) and the Yard Master's office (to the left). |
