PRR 9680, EH-15, c. 1954
Mann. Here is a photo of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9680 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9680 is an EH-15 constructed in January of 1949, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15, and retired in December of 1963 after just 14 years of revenue service. In this context, they're serving as eastbound pushers up to the tunnels in Gallitzin. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
