Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6307 and #6300. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They've just completed a helper run up the East Slope to Gallitzin and back, and are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge on their way to East Altoona for further assignment.
