PRR 2299, EF-25, 1965
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2299 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #2299 is an EF-25 constructed in November of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with a fully-loaded coal train on its way to the Eastbound Receiving Yards in Altoona. Note the brake shoe smoke! (#3 of 44)
