| Wye Switches. Here is an original photo that I took at the "Wye Switches" (aka "New Portage Junction") in Duncansville, Pennsylvania in the Summer of 1963. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7163, an EFS-17M road switcher built by GM-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. In this context, it's pulling a mixed-cargo freight train from the Altoona Yards to the Hollidaysburg Yards. |
