This trio of Cotton Belt locomotives was photographed from the westbound
SUNSET LIMITED
as it passed
AVONDALE YARD
, at the west end of the Huey P. Long Bridge. These were GP40 7607, which had been built in March 1966; SD45 8966, which had been built in February 1968; and the nose of GP9 3645, which had been built in October 1957 as the 824 and was still in its original paint scheme.
