Description:
Here is a photo via Harold K. Vollrath that was taken in West Philadelphia, in November of 1941. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3005, an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-3D during 1906, rebuilt as an E-3SD, and retired in May of 1947 after 31 years of faithful service. Note the Hostler up by the locomotive's bell. Gary Mittner Collection.
